SANParks urges visitors to be cautious as more rain is predicted for the Kruger

While more rain is expected in the province over the next few days, the Kruger says it does not expect more than moderate rainfall in the park.

With instances of rain across parts of Mpumalanga last night and this morning, February 17, the Kruger National Park’s Disaster Management Team said it is expecting more showers throughout the day.

SANParks said the rain will delay the process of assessing damage to the road infrastructure and restrict movement for visitors.

“Indications are that gravel roads in the south will remain closed. Lower Sabie to Skukuza will also remain closed for repairs,” said the statement.

The park urged visitors to be cautious when crossing low-lying bridges.

It said the rainfall forecast predicts moderate rain over very wet catchment areas, and this may result in some localised impacts.
