Lowveld areas where protests are expected identified

The Nelspruit CPF said the following places, where protests are expected to take place as part of the EFF national shutdown on March 20, have been identified.

As the national shutdown looms, the entire security cluster is fully operational and will provide updates as and when they become available.

The Nelspruit CPF said the following areas where there will be possible protest action have been identified:

  • Matsulu
  • Bushbuckridge
  • Barberton
  • Moyeni
  • Kyamazane
  • Masoyi
  • White River
  • Mataffin
  • Mganduzweni
  • Dayizenza
  • Mahushu

“We still do not know exactly what to expect. What we do know is that it is a constitutional right to protest. However, in this instance there is a court order that prohibits protesters from blocking any road or forcing any business to close,” said the CPF.
