Indigo Smiles Autism Foundation hosted a family fun day complete with water slides, bouncy castles and lots of exciting activities for the whole family.

The Indigo Smiles Autism Foundation held its annual Lowveld Family Fun Day at the FreeChoice Learning Centre on Saturday April 1.

The day delivered lots of fun with bouncy castles, water slides, games, arts and crafts stations and bubbles for families present at the event.

Indigo Smiles Autism Foundation’s founder, Cindy Coetzee, said the event was the organisation’s first in the Lowveld, and was also held as a way for families and professionals to connect and share resources surrounding caring for children with autism and other special needs.

She said the event aimed to create publicity for World Autism Awareness Day, which was on Sunday.

International guest speaker, Hayley Best, the director of Let’s Talk Autism UK, graced the day with her presence.

All proceeds of the day went to Indigo Smiles, and Coetzee said the foundation would be hosting more events in the near future.
