Hundreds of Easter eggs hunted down in Mbombela’s botanical garden

What better place to host an Easter egg hunt than in one of the Lowveld's most beautiful gardens?

An Easter egg hunt on its own is already loads of fun for youngsters; add to that the setting of the Lowveld National Botanical Garden, and the experience gets an educational element to it as well.

This was the intent of Mandisa Dlamini, the organiser of the egg hunt that took place in the garden on April 8.

There were two rounds of hunting done, one at 09:00 and one at 11:00. Dlamini said the first batch of 600 eggs were gone in a matter of minutes. “We had to go out and buy 900 more!”

She said the idea was for the children to hunt for Easter eggs and also to spend some time with their families in nature.
