IN PHOTOS: An afternoon of dance at Mbombela Civic Theatre

Glynnis Modern Dance Studio put on quite the Broadway show in Mbombela recently.

Broadway was indeed brought to the city in Glynnis Modern Dance Studio’s production, Broadway to Nelspruit.

Initially, only two shows had been planned at the Mbombela Civic Theatre, but tickets sold out so fast, a third was added to satisfy the demand. And none of the three June 10 shows disappointed.

A dance teacher of 44 years and owner of the studio, Glynnis Coetsee, said the show was a great success. “Everyone loved and enjoyed it. The outfits were fantastic and the mothers were out of this world. There were close to 300 children participating in the show, and the mums were amazing. They helped with make-up, dressed the children, got them to the stage on time – my pupils were fantastic!”

From the stage manager to her fellow teachers, to the parents and students young and old, it was like one big family coming together to make the show the success it was.

Coetsee is proud of every single student, from the three-year-old to the 21-year-old. “They all performed at their very best!”
