Limpopo principals empowered during conference
More than 200 principals from all five districts of Limpopo attended the two-day conference.
Limpopo education MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya has expressed gratitude to schools principals for working hard to improve academic results.
The MEC addressed the South African Principals’ Association (Sapa) during a conference in Polokwane recently.
More than 200 principals from all five districts of Limpopo attended the two-day conference.
She said Limpopo is showing an upward trajectory as far as matric results are concerned. The MEC contributed the improvement to the principals as the accounting managers for the schools.
The association’s president, Mashumu Ramulumo, said the conference focused on leadership and school management.
“It was all about affirming school leadership and management. We are developing school principals because there is no school for principalship. Our role is to make sure that principals are developed and are well equipped, to make sure that our schools run well and become centres of excellence.”
He said the conference was also aimed at providing support and to empower principals to better manage their schools.
