Mr & Miss Bergvlam 2023 crowned
Not a beauty pageant, but a journey filled with opportunities, learning and discovery - that is Mr & Miss Bergvlam. Here are this year's winners:
The Mr & Miss Bergvlam finalists are ambassadors for the school’s value system and a beacon of light to the community and their peers.
This year’s winning sashes went to Thammy Ndaba as Miss Bergvlam and Jeandré Erasmus as Mr Bergvlam on August 17.
During their journey as finalists, these learners are taught to think outside the box and to adapt to situations outside of their comfort zone. The learners get exposure to opportunities outside their frame of reference, and in so doing, they discover and develop their way of being. Through being part of so many charity projects, compassion is fostered for their fellow man.

Although the evening is known for its glitz and glamour, Mr & Miss Bergvlam is so much more than a beauty pageant. It teaches learners to use their inner beauty to benefit others, because we rise by lifting others. The 20 finalists consisted of the following learners: Billey Casey, Ndzhaka Manyange, Seema Maha Singh, Taylor van Deventer, Thammy Ndaba, Banele Zikalala, Rea Dalami, Mieke Schoeman, Jeandré Erasmus, Veronica de Vasconcelos, Keanan Gant, Ailton Novele, Francois de Villiers, Fresh Mahlangu, Cynthia Stydom, Esmeré Boonzaaier, Nandi Gumbi, Gustav de Beer, Jeanika De La Rey and Tayla Bester Cerqueira.
The runners-up, or rather first princess and prince, were Seema Maha Singh and Billey Casey. Seema also walked away with the viewers’ choice award this year.

The places for second prince and princess went to Ailton Novele and Cynthia Strydom.

Cynthia was also awarded Miss Personality. Right next to her, Reamogetse Dolamo took his place as Mr Personality.
When it came to the photographs, Seema stepped in once again and received the title for Miss Photogenic. Keanan Gant went home with the title of Mr Photogenic. Raising funds plays a large part in making the evening a success as well, which makes a place for ambassador awards. Ambassador sash went to Veronica de Vasconcelos, ambassador runner-up to Taylor van Deventer and, coming for her third title, ambassador went to Cynthia.
