From cheerleaders to dancing to floats through the streets, it was a well-celebrated 120th birthday for this Barberton school.

Laerskool Barberton celebrates 120 years of rich Lowveld history this year.

Throughout the whole year, the school has had various events to commemorate this milestone, but the biggest of all was held over the weekend of August 18.

Learners, teachers and all manner of community members who support the school filled the streets of the town on Saturday morning, August 19, as part of a parade. It included themed floats, decorated vehicles, cheerleaders and so much more.

Another impressive show was the gymnaestrada at Bouwer Park. The crowd on the pavilion saw all learners and most teachers work their way through various dance numbers with no shortage of enthusiasm.
