Accused in Malalane CIT heist appear in court
The seven accused, including four police officers, who were arrested in connection with a Malalane CIT heist, appeared in the Tonga Magistrate's Court for a bail application.
Four members of the White River Flying Squad and three accomplices appeared in the Tonga Magistrate’s Court on September 26 for a formal bail application.
They were arrested in connection with a CIT heist that occurred near Malalane on August 11 this year. R8 000 in coins were allegedly stolen.
The matter was postponed to September 27 for further cross-examination of the investigating officer.

Sergeants Collen Cyprian Nonyane (47), Sunday Peace Mashego (41), Bhekinkosi Stanley Goddi (41) and Sibusiso Musa Vilakazi (38), as well as taxi driver, Musa Bhekifa Ngwenyama (30), a Malawian national, Ali Obi Ebrahim (24), and safe haven owner Mfanasibili Lawrence Lubisi (44) are the accused.
The outcome of the bail application was not known at the time of publishing.
