One killed in accident near tunnel on N4 in Emgwenya

The N4 Elands Valley has been closed due to a fatal accident. Motorists are advised to use the Schoemanskloof road.

An accident on the N4 in the Elands Valley, between the Five Arch Bridge and the ZASM Tunnel in Emgwenya, claimed a woman’s life today, September 30.

According to the spokesperson for the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Moeti Mmusi, one other person who had been travelling with the woman in a sedan suffered serious injuries.

He said the accident, involving the sedan and a truck, occurred in the lane heading in eMalahleni’s direction.

Mmusi said the truck driver was uninjured.

The section of road has been closed as the recovery of the accident is continuing. Motorists are advised to use the Schoemanskloof road.
