The all-new 2025 Subaru Forester has officially landed, and was unveiled in the Lowveld!

Subaru Nelspruit held the launch of the latest addition to their fleet, the sixth generation of the Subaru Forester, at Mbombela Golf Club on Wednesday, August 20.

The launch marked the official introduction of the Forester to the Lowveld, a week and a half before its nationwide roll-out and launch at the Festival of Motoring this weekend.

The Mbombela launch was attended by Subaru Southern Africa delegates, among them managing director Toshimitsu Tanaka, and the team at Subaru Nelspruit is eager to have the new generation Forester on their showroom floor.

Dealer principal Danie Stassen believes the sixth generation is one of the biggest overhauls the Subaru Forester has ever got.

“It’s more than just simply a facelift and one or two new features, about 90% of it is basically a brand-new car,” he said.

“We [Subaru] only launch a new Forester once every six years, so there has been a lot of time and effort put into developing what is a really special car. There are improvements on so many things throughout the car.”

The 2025 Subaru Forester sports four different variants and no fewer than 11 different colours along with improved fuel use, vehicle performance and a further improved gearbox.

According to Stassen, the moment you hop in the car you’ll begin to feel the major overhaul the Forester has undergone. “As soon as you leave the lot you’ll realise it’s a new car. We’ve taken four steps forward and no steps back, this car is truly a generation of its own.”

But Stassen is well aware that one simply cannot take words and numbers on paper at face value.

“Owning and driving a Subaru is an experience like no other. Subaru is a proud Japanese brand and we were named the most reliable car brand in the world in 2024. In South Africa, more than 90% of the Subarus sold over the past 30 years are still on the road today.”

The team at Subaru Nelspruit is also an experience in its own right, and Stassen encourages anybody looking to get themselves a new vehicle to stop by the dealership at 16 Waterlily Crescent, Riverside Park.

“I can almost guarantee you will drive away with your hands on the wheel of a new Subaru if you pay us a visit,” Stassen concluded.

The day of the reveal of the new range of Subaru Foresters was a roaring success as the launch event also coincided with Subaru Nelspruit’s monthly golf competition at Mbombela Golf Club, which this time around was won by Brian Springorum with 43 individual Stableford points.
