Meat World winners drive off with new wheels

Two lucky Lowvelders each walked away with a brand-new Suzuki Swift 1.2 GL on Saturday after competing in Meat World’s ‘Meat Your New Wheels’ campaign.

Gert Visser, who is a regular customer at Meat World Matumi, was overjoyed when he received the call. “I couldn’t believe it!” he said.

“I have never won anything as big as this in my life.” Even though he and his wife have cars, they decided that the new vehicle would be their joint car. Store manager Jason Da Cunha handed over the keys, and, with a bottle of champagne, the car was officially Visser’s new addition to the car family.

While at Meat World Nelspruit, Raymond Mathebula was so surprised he initially thought it was a scam. When they finally reached him, he couldn’t believe his luck. He and his wife gladly accepted the keys to their new vehicle and couldn’t wait to go for a spin. Shoppers had to spend R500 or more at any Meat World branch to enter the competition and complete an entry form with their slip attached.

Entrants could enter as many times as they liked to better their chances. Nelson, director of the company, said they wanted to reward customers for their loyal support and were overjoyed to hand over the vehicles.

“We would like to thank all our loyal shoppers for supporting us and for our success,” said Nelson. “Without you we would not be able to do what we do. Therefore, we like to invest in our community and give back.”
