White River residents and those of surrounding areas are advised to use water sparingly for the next five weeks as the water canal will be closed due to maintenance during this times. The council will, however, be using an augmentation line from Sembcorp Silulumanzi.
Why is the maintenance done?
Because the infrastructure is old. In rainy season there is runoff (dirt, mud, and sand) that reduce the capacity of the canal.

High lying areas.

For the next six weeks, until June 26, from Tuesday nights to Thursday afternoons.
What will Mbombela do to assist high lying areas?
The municipality will assist with a water tanker.
