On Thursday September 22 an accident occurred between an Isuzu bakkie and a chrome ore carrier truck on the Ohrigstad Road (R36).
The incident took place 25km outside Lydenburg. The bakkie rolled several times and the driver had to be extracted out of the vehicle. She sustained serious injuries. She was stabilised on the scene while emergency workers waited for the Netcare 911 helicopter.
She was airlifted to Mediclinic Nelspruit. The truck driver was uninjured. Officials on the scene were not prepared to speculate regarding the cause of the accident.
