Several injured in early-morning N4 crash near Hectorspruit

Only one lane is open for traffic while emergency recovery operations are in progress.

Several people were seriously injured in a collision between a minibus taxi and a 4×4 bakkie on the N4 between Hectorspruit and Komatipoort this morning, March 1.

The crash occurred at about 06:00 and left several passengers trapped in the wreckage of the taxi.

“The Jaws of Life had to be used to extricate injured passengers from the taxi,” said Frits Koekemoer of the Nkomazi EMS.

He said one lane has been closed while emergency services attend to the scene.
