Rocking for Rhinos Festival a great success

With 1 000 to 1 200 people at the event, this was a double up from the previous
year’s 600 attendees.

The Rocking for Rhinos team was blown away by the response, and thanks all festivalgoers and sponsors involved for making the event such a success.
“The unique thing about our festival and organisation is that all profits raised from the ticket sales go directly to rhino conservation and anti-poaching initiatives, so the more people that attend, the better for the rhino,” said Jacqui Sive, one of oganisation’s directors.
With well-known bands such as Locnville, Crash Car Burn and DJ Costa supporting the cause, people came from as far as Cape Town to support the cause. According to the team, it aims to be one of the largest festivals in South Africa in the next five years.
“The great thing is that it’s not only for the rhino. We support conservation as a whole, and understand that it is our generation that will be held responsible for losing or saving the many species that are currently under threat, and we all know which side we would rather be on,” said Ken Whyte, a team representative.
Having already completed its first round of horn infusions with funds raised from the last year’s event and various other ones, the team plans to make the next festival even better than this year’s one. As a registered non-profit organisation, Rocking for Rhinos invites all members of the public to contribute in any way possible.
