TONGA – On Saturday evening a 51-year-old woman was attacked by three unidentified men in her home while she was sleeping.

The woman, a resident of Mangweni, was found abandoned near a tavern in Tonga after her ordeal.

According to police spokesman, Lt Mzwandile Nyambi it is alleged that the suspects broke a window and burglar proofing to enter the house and attack the woman.

“The woman alleges that she was asleep when she suddenly saw three unknown African males whom one of them pointed a fire-arm at her, demanding cash. The suspects also took an undisclosed amount of money, a nokia cell phone, bank cards and went to withdraw money while others waited with the victim in the house. When they came back from the ATM they demanded the car keys for a Toyota Hilux double cab belonging to the woman and fled the scene. The suspects are still on the loose.”

The Toyota Hilux was found by police near a known tavern early Sunday morning.
