Police are searching for suspects responsible for stealing school computers that were recovered on Monday morning.

TONGA – Police are searching for suspects responsible for stealing school computers that were recovered on Monday morning.

Tonga Police received information of suspected stolen computers that were hidden on a farm in Mangweni. They acted swiftly on the information and recovered the computers. It is alleged that they were stolen from Mjejane Primary School on Sunday night.

The complainant, a 41-year-old man, who works as a security guard at the school, alleges that when he knocked off duty everything was in order. He was surprised when he received a call from the school principal informing him a burglary had taken place at the school.

When they checked they found that the burglar doors were bent open and a black Sahara flat computer screen, a compact computer box with a flat screen,a Delti laptop, a small safe with a cheque book, deposit book and an undisclosed amount of cash were missing.

The Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC) was summoned to the scene and where they collected finger prints.

“As police we believe the offenders will be arrested soon,” said the spokesman for the Tonga SAPS, Lt Mzwandile Nyambi.

Nyambi furthermore thanked the community member who informed the police about the hidden goods
