Mozambican man arrested for illegal possession of truck
A Mozambican has been arrested for being in illegal possession of a Hino truck, worth more than R500 000. The truck in question has recently been reported stolen in Sinoville.
TONGA – A Mozambican has been arrested for being in illegal possession of a Hino truck, worth more than R500 000. The truck in question has recently been reported stolen in Sinoville.
The 48-year old Francisco Januario was stopped after a vigilant member of the local K9 unit, Constable Thokozane Sibiya, followed the truck while patrolling the Mzini-Tonga road.
He established that the registration was fake and stopped the truck. The driver, Januario, alleged that he was merely hired as a driver to transport it to Mangweni Trust, but was nevertheless taken into custody and will appear in the local magistrate court soon.
Police is still investigating the case.
