Drugs are widely used and abused in local communities

Burgersfort and Lydenburg locals are getting fed up with Methcathinone (Cat) and Cannabis users and dealers. The dangerous and addictive drugs that is cheap and easy to manufacture creates a potential drug crisis that is tearing families, communities and relationships apart, while the drug dealers are laughing all the way to the bank. Locals also added that they are disgusted with the lack of commitment local police forces are showing regarding the rapidly growing drug problem.

Steelburger/Lydenburg News interviewed two recovering drug addicts who told us more about their road to recovery and we also spoke to drug experts who shared their views regarding the drug problem. Read the full story in Friday’s newspaper.
