Heroes also need heroes to save them

MBOMBELA – Even heroes need heroes sometimes. To assist local crime fighters, Bossies Community Justice (BCJ),
Re/Max donated a much-needed R30 000 to the non-profit organisation on Friday.
Re/Max owner Maurice Lodewick handed the cheque to WO Danie Theron and Albert Gyvenstein. He said the business has been sponsoring them for four years. They supported them because they had a vested interest in seeing crime in the city decrease, as it affected property values.
“A percentage of our team’s turnover is contributed towards BCJ,” Maurice said. “We support them as they assist everyone, not just those who can afford a security company. Any prospective employee is informed they would have to contribute towards BCJ as it is standard procedure for our team.”
Maurice said BCJ was not being rewarded for their efforts in combating crime as they should be. “Everyone needs to give back to the community. We at Re/Max decided this is the best way to contribute.”
He added that he had seen how the BCJ team operated when Annatjie Myburgh went missing earlier this year. “It was amazing to see how they cooperated with police and other security firms to track down the perpetrators,” he concluded.
