Catch the Parlotones in White River tonight

The first concert of The Stories Behind The Songs South African Tour will take place in White River, in association with Casterbridge Music Development Academy, tonight.

Don’t forget to catch the Parlotones live from the Casterbridge Theatre this weekend. The first concert of The Stories Behind The Songs South African Tour will take place in White River, in association with Casterbridge Music Development Academy, tonight.

Inspired by the songwriting prowess of frontman, Kahn Morbee, and having collaborated as a collective for over 15 years, the band will get up close and personal with fans as they take them behind the scenes of their song-writing journeys, experiences and influences.

“Creating music that resonates with our fans is something that we as a band are very proud of and we are looking forward to sharing the method behind our madness when it comes to the processes and ideas behind constructing each and every song,” said Kahn.

“Be it the different paths in life we have travelled, to the experiences and adventures, we are looking forward to sharing these stories with our fans across the country.”

As part of the tour, the band will release The Parlotones, The Stories Behind The Songs coffee-table book. It was co-written by all four members over a period of time with detailed insights of each album.

The Parlotones are Kahn Morbee, Neil Pauw and the brothers Glen and Paul Hodgson.

Formed in 1999, the band achieved massive success in South Africa, while gaining recognition in various markets across Europe and the US.

They released their first album Episoda in 2003 and have since released six more studio albums: radiocontrolledrobot (2005), A World Next Door to Yours (2007), Stardust Galaxies (2009), Journey through the Shadows (2012), Stand Like Giants (2013) and the recently released Antiques and Artefacts (2015).

They have also released two live albums, Unplugged (2008) and Live Design (2010).

Radiocontrolledrobot and Stardust Galaxies both won a South African Music Award (SAMA) for Best Rock Album. They have won numerous local awards, and a handful of international song-writing awards.
