Kittens at Love4Claws need a loving home
Give a kitten a forever home and help Love4Claws, a charity organisation in Malelane, reduce the local stray and feral population.

MALALANE – Support Love4Claws in their efforts to help and reduce the local feral and stray cat population. It was founded by Patricia van der Westhuizen, Marcel Norris, Erika Geldenhuys and Wilma Coetzer, who have been helping cats and kittens for the past two years, mostly from their own pockets.
As part of their efforts to reduce the feral- cat population, the organisation organised a spaying initiative in partnership with Malelane Animal Clinic in October and encouraged locals to bring feral or stray cats to be neutered or spayed. Read more about it here.
Besides this initiative, the women also shelter and try to find homes for the cats, both through their organisation and Pro-Life Pet Rescue in Mbombela.
Currently they have seven kittens up for adoption. A kitten can be adopted for R450, which includes deworming, inoculations and sterilisation at six months.
Organisations such as the SPCA advocate adopting cats from shelters instead of buying them from breeders or pet shops.
Here are a few reasons why you should adopt:
• You help save an animal’s life.
• You help break the cycle of pet overpopulation.
• You help stop cruelty at mass breeding facilities.
• You support a charity that can take care of more abandoned or stray animals.
Love4Claws hopes to build a permanent kitten sanctuary to reduce the amount of stress the kittens are under because they need to be moved on a regular basis for their safety. They have an ideal location but need building materials such as chicken mesh, steel poles and wood (like pallets). Any such donations or sponsorships will be most welcome.
Once the kitten sanctuary is built they’ll also be able to help many more felines.
The community can support the organisation via collection tins at the Vetshop, Montego and Dirty Dogs or their account at Malelane Animal Clinic. All donations are used to sterilise and feed the cats.
