Casterbridge Animal Hospital has just issued a warning after three malicious dog poisonings were confirmed in the past 24 hours.
The poisonings occurred in the Curlews area, near White River Rugby Club, and one in town.
“What’s more worrying and unusual is that one poisoning occurred during the day,” said Dr Graeme Harman of Casterbridge.
He added that they were able to save one of the dogs, while one is still unconscious and one died.
He urged locals to be extremely vigilant. Read Epidemic of dog-poisoning spreading to White River again.
The warning signs include body tremors (extreme shivering), diarrhoea, dilated pupils and extreme salivating.
“If you notice these symptoms, try to push as much washing powder as possible, down your pets throat until it vomits. This will get rid of some of the poison in its stomach before it gets absorbed. Then rush to your nearest vet”
