UPDATE: Two KNP poaching suspects to appear in court.

Two men have been arrested in relation to a failed poaching attempt and will appear in court.

SKUKUZA – Two suspected poachers have been arrested and will appear in the Bushbuckridge Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.

The men were spotted yesterday (June 18), by patrolling rangers, along with a third assailant, at the Crocodile Bridge, near the Ingwenya Lodge at the Kruger National Park.

A shoot-out ensued where one of the three suspects was fatally wounded. The two managed to get away on foot.

According to Skukuza police spokesman, WO Willie Broodryk, a hunting rifle was found.

The park’s helicopters could be seen circling the area in search of the suspects.
