Club spoils Pro-Life’s dog

Members of Legogote Villagers were out in force for a noble cause on Sunday. As part of celebrating Mandela month, the club spent the morning walking dogs at Pro-Life Pet Rescue, Rehabilitation and Adoption Agency.

MBOMBELA – The two-kilometre walk was a treat for the animals, which were excited to spend time outside their enclosures.

For some dogs the thought of stretching their legs on a Sunday morning was not ideal, while the others enjoyed a nice stroll through the hills and enjoyed the fresh air.

André Vianello of the marathon club, based in White River, said they have been doing these walks for the past two years. “This is our contribution towards charity. We want to do something for the community in Mandela month.”

The members also donated food and cleaned up the enclosures.

Pro-Life rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes dogs and cats which are starving, abandoned or abused. There are currently around 200 cats and dogs at the centre.

Its mission is to give every pet a happy home and safe haven where they can feel comfortable and loved. The centre does not euthanise healthy pets as everyone deserves a second chance.
