Club member celebrates 50th birthday in style

Barberton Golf Club (BGC) celebrated a special day with one of its longest affiliated members, Vicky Nkosi, last week Saturday.

Nkosi held his 50th birthday at BGC by hosting a golf day.

Although he turned 50 on Tuesday July 20, he invited members, friends and family to spend the day playing golf and indulging in some friendly competition.

Nkosi collected the prizes and treated the members to a feast of delicious food and splendid cake, which was baked by Elline Cockburn, after the game.

He thanked everyone who participated in the event, especially his mother, Beauty.

“I’m very happy to reach and celebrate my half century and to be surrounded by all of you, whom I take as part of my family. I started to attend BGC as a caddie when I was still a primary school learner. The funds helped me to stay out of trouble as I used it as my pocket money at school,” said Nkosi.
