Funds received from the National Lotteries Commission put to good use by Sanca

A large allocation to Sanca from the National Lotteries Commission (NLC) earlier this year, came in handy for the non-profit organisation when they were able to purchase a new vehicle for work.

MBOMBELA – Recently , Sanca was able to use a portion of the R1 million that was allocated to them by the commission  for the  purchase of a new Suzuki Ignis.

The official handover of the Suzuki Ignis took place at the dealership in Riverside.

According to Wernich Swart, Sanca treasurer, the vehicle will be used to assist the organisation in its professional endeavours:”This vehicle will help us with prevention services in the Enhlanzeni area and the Mbombela district. It will also be used in our networking efforts with all major stakeholders.”

The allocation of these funds was in line with the NLC’s aim of making a difference in the lives of all South Africans, especially those less fortunate, and improving the sustainability of the organisations which receive these funds.

Sanca also used some of the money to assist with paying the running costs of the Lowveld Alcohol and Drug Help Centre and the overhead costs of its prevention services. Sanca Lowveld’s Marina Erasmus thanked the Lotto for its generous support. “Without it, this would not have been possible.”
