The hills are alive with the sound of joy
Audiences were glued to their seats in the civic theatre last week when sounds of singing and clapping by pupils of KaMagugu Inclusive School's filled the air.

MBOMBELA – Stay Tuned, a concert by the KaMagugu Inclusive School, entertained an appreciative audience in the civic theatre last week.
The family setting, with Naledi Ngobeni as the mother and Faranani Nekhembe as the father, made for many laughs, as did the presenters of the main part of the play.
The concert featured a number of television shows, including The Flintstones from Cartoon Network, the Disney movie Madagascar, a favourite among kids (and adults), synchronised swimming, fashion, travel and music from MTV.
SABC’s Survivor, the ubiquitous and ever-popular Pitch Perfect, and top African performers, including a marimba band accompanied by gumboot dancers, also entertained the audience.
The performers starring in the school’s rendition of Aladdin were spectacular and the Arabian Nights came to roost in the rafters of the theatre as Prince Ali and his entourage sashayed across the stage.
The ever-present “clowns” kept the audience in laughter between performances.
After Aladdin, the school’s reproduction of the hit romantic musical Grease transported the audience back to the 1950s.
The littlies’ (group three) rendition of Pets 101 had the guests laughing and clapping since the complicated moves of the chicken-dance song were expertly employed.
The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. At the end of the show, the marimba band and gumboot dancers returned for a final encore, performing with great enthusiasm – a richly deserved standing ovation was simply the cherry on top.
