VIDEO and AUDIO INTERVIEWS: No bomb found at Du Toit-Smuts and Partners

MBOMBELA –  Police have confirmed that no bomb was found at the local law firm Du Toit-Smuts&Partners. This after the law firm received four anonymous calls that there was a bomb in their building.

The bomb squad on the scene carefully opened a suspicious package after three police dogs alerted them to it.  The package was taken out onto the road where a bomb technician carefully checked the contents.

At 12:15 Lowvelder reported: 

MBOMBELA – Police are still searching the premises of local law firm Du Toit-Smuts & Partners.

The firm received a bomb threat via telephone call this morning. Its employees have evacuated the building. The police’s bomb squad were deployed to the scene and are still determining whether there is a bomb inside.

At 11:30, Lowvelder reported:

MBOMBELA – The police’s bomb squad have been deployed at a local attorney’s firm targeted by a bomb threat this morning.

One of the firm’s partners spoke to Lowvelder at 11:11.

“We received an anonymous telephone call,” he said. The caller said that there was a bomb in the building. Employees immediately vacated that building and the crime scene was barricaded with crime scene tape.

Employees have evacuated the building.

Nobody is allowed in or out of there.

Police officials and the K-9 unit are on the scene.
