Local businesses get opportunity to go national
The Proudly South African roadshows open up opportunities for the SMMEs and offers them financial and non-financial support.

MBOMBELA – Proudly South Africa hosted its final business-forum roadshow at the Protea Hotel early this month. The forum encourages small and medium businesses (SMME) to join the organisation’s database, which exposes them to various opportunities. Proudly South Africa’s president, Eustace Mashimbye said the businesses are also registered on a database, creating a space for them to offer services to public entities.
“These roadshows open up opportunities for the SMMEs and offers them financial and non-financial support,” he said. “It is also the reason why we invite people from various government departments, so that they can engage,” Mashimbye said. The roadshows take place in all nine provinces and allow for the SMMEs to also network with like-minded people.
“During the roadshows we always look for businesses that are ready for the market and can do what we ask of them,” the CEO added.
Proudly South Africa is an non-profit organisation established in 2001 through the national economic development and labour council from government, business, organised labour and the community. It was formed to address government’s five main priorities which include education, health, job creation, the fight against crime and corruption, rural development and land reform.
