Penryn girls head to Los Angeles
Two Penryn girls are ready to take the overseas entertainment world by storm at the World Championships for Performing Arts.
Thando Mathebula (vocals and dance) and Amy-Lee Card (vocals) will represent Penryn as well as South Africa at the World Championships for Performing Arts in Los Angeles from July 6 to 15. They qualified after their performances at the South African Championships of Performing Arts in Rustenburg in April.

They shared the stage with 2 800 contestants from all over the country, competing in 5 000 items in different performing-arts categories such as drama, modelling, instrumental, vocal and dance.

‘We would like to wish them the best of luck,’ the school said.
