Local SPCA now a drop zone for recycling

Both the shop and recycling depot are open to the public from 10:00 to 15:00 every Monday to Friday.

Whether it is tin or glass, cardboard or plastic, if you do not need it any more, you should bring it to the local SPCA.

Just do not throw it away with other disposable household refuge, pleads Kayd de Wet.

He is running the new recycling depot at the SPCA premises in Tungsten Road, as well as manning the recently opened bargain shop.

Both the shop and recycling depot are now open to the public from 10:00 to 15:00 every Monday to Friday.

Kayd said they already received a lot of cardboard and plastic and urged people to bring more glass and tins.

Although they request residents to separate the different recyclable materials, they will not show anybody away if stuff has not been separated.

This is now another way residents can help the organisation, because they in turn sell the recyclables and the money helps to buy food and other necessities to help the animals in their care.

The shop stocks all kinds of interesting items, including clothes, kitchen items, camping equipment and toys.

Residents who want to donate items for sale in the shop, can also bring it to Kayd during the abovementioned hours.
