BREAKING NEWS: Fire raging in Alkmaar near Mbombela

Ground teams and air support are currently on the scene. It is unclear when the fire will be brought under control

MBOMBELA – Firefighters are working tirelessly to try and contain a fire that has been raging since last night.

According to the manager of the Lowveld and Escarpment Fire Protection Association (Lefpa), Andre Scheepers, with the number of aircraft working on the fire at the moment, around 90 000 litres of water is being used to douse the fire. “Ground teams and air support are currently on the scene. It is unclear when the fire will be brought under control,” said Scheepers.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
