One suspect was arrested for theft of macadamias and fruit recovered near Hazyview last week.
Hi-Tech Special Services received information from an informant that bags of macadamias were being loaded into a taxi along the R40.
Their Hazyview R40 reaction vehicle was sent to the spot, and contract commander Capt Wian du Toit proceeded as backup.
On their arrival one suspect was apprehended and arrested, but three suspects managed to flee the scene.
Five bags full of macadamias were recovered.
Over the weekend Hi-Tech Hazyview and Hi-Tech Special Services were also contacted by MTO Forestry Security to assist them in connection with timber theft close to the Bergvliet area.
The truck and an escort vehicle were spotted heading towards Hazyview on the R536, (Sabie Road) and in a joint operation eight suspects were arrested and 458 timber poles recovered.
