Uplands Prep athletes get ready with inter-house event

After nearly 100 events, there were only 46 points separating first and second place.

On Saturday January 26 Uplands Preparatory hosted its annual interhouse athletics meeting.

Fuller House won the foundation phase competition. Thereafter, the senior primary children had their chance to shine, and shine they did.

After nearly 100 events, there were only 46 points separating first and second place. Ultimately, Ogilvie House took the gold, followed closely by Fuller and then Webb.

This year saw six new records being set: Daniel Rea (u/10 boys long jump), Katelyn Kotze (u/10 girls 150m), Luyanda Mbatha (u/10 girls 1200 m), Keegan Drews (u/11 boys 1200 m), and Bruce Nel (open boys 1500 m and 800 m).

The prize winners for 2019 are: Gita van der Leek (junior girl champion), Micah Waspe (junior boy champion), Katelyn Kotze (junior victrix ludorum), Daniel Rea (junior victor ludorum), Lily Rose (senior victrix ludorum), and Bruce Nel (senior victor ludorum).
