Bungalows do it for Valentine’s Day

Bungalows Bowling Club hosted its Valentine’s Day event on February 9 with 14 teams filling the greens in hot Lowveld weather.

The fun-filled day started with a relaxing cup of coffee and rusks as Bungalows president, Darryl Cross read and explained the rules for the day.

The format comprised three games with four points per game won, two points per game won and one point per end won.

A 50/50 board was also played and Francois Hanekom won R250 with the winning number 100.

After game one Lettie Ambrosius from White River was in the lead.

During the second game the bowlers had to get their hats out and sunscreen had to be applied.

The second game came and went and soon it was the last end of the third encounter.

Afterwards the participants and supporters socialised and the prize-giving commenced.

Mimmie Theron, Lood van Rooyen and Ann Dold from Nelspruit were the winners, with Charle Christensen, Jimmy Smith and Jo Koster also from Nelspruit in second place. Mike and Rhona Pienaar with Di Enslin from Nelspruit were third.

A Valentine’s hamper was raffled and won by Sakkie du Toit.

The best-dressed team was Owen Meredith, Bronwyn Meredith and Dean Paiva.

A yellow drinks card raffle was won by Paiva and a red drinks card raffle by Meredith.
