Eskom to continue with load shedding this week
Customers are advised to keep checking their load shedding schedules on the Eskom and municipal websites.

Stage 4 load shedding will be implemented from 09.00 to 23.00 today due to a shortage of capacity.
In a statement tweeted by Eskom, it states load shedding Stage 4 is no cause for alarm as the system is being effectively controlled. “Load shedding is a highly controlled process, implemented to protect the system and to prevent a total collapse of the system or a national blackout,” reads the statement.

Due to current risk of load shedding, you can familiarise yourself with some proactive steps to ensure that you are adequately prepared.
Here is a check list to prepare yourself:
- Keep your phone fully charged
- Invest in a small gas lamp
- Keep boiled water in thermos flasks for hot drinks during a power outage
- Prepare meals beforehand
- Keep frozen bottled water in your freezer to help keep food cold during a power outage
