To donate to the shelter they can be contacted at 013-753-3582 or visited at 6 Meidlinger Street.

Food supplies at the Nelspruit SPCA are very low. According to the shelter’s vice-chairman, Ludi Botha, their overall food supply is standing on a very poor 35 per cent.

They have no puppy food, and only have five per cent kitten food.

The shelter also has no wet dog and cat food and is in dire need of all the donations it can get.

According to Botha, though, their financial situation has been looking up.

“So far we are getting a steady stream of small donations. We ask that the community sign a Pledge a Paw debit order form to help us on a regular basis. The charity shop is in need of donations in the way of baby, children and adult clothing, as we currently have a clothing sale,”

Botha said.

The supplies for their feral cat project are also only at
five per cent.
