SPCA committees trained to render better services
NSPCA CEO Marcelle Meredith gave lectures on the structure and functions of the national body and its acts and rules.

The managing committees of the Mpumalanga branches of the SPCA recently attended a training course at Premier Hotel The Winkler.
SPCA Committee members from White River, Nelspruit, Barberton, Bethal and Middelburg were represented at the two-day course and conference presented by the National Council of SPCAs.
NSPCA CEO Marcelle Meredith, who was assisted by liaison officer Janette Muller, gave lectures on the structure and functions of the national body and its acts and rules.
Committee responsibilities, staff management, animal care including euthanasia, pet adoption and the principles of animal protection legislation were discussed.
The conference was held (and graciously sponsored by) Premier Hotel The Winkler. It supplied the venue, all catering for the group and accommodation for the NSPCA delegates.
“We would like to express our appreciation to Simon Sutherland, the general manager of the hotel, who attentively catered to our every whim and treated us like VIPs,” local chairman, Mia Barnard said. “He is a very special man, and a major contributor in making this weekend a reality and success.”
