Police find four rhino horns during road patrols
Police recovered two rhino horns during an stop-and-search operation in Komatipoort and another two near Belfast on Thursday.
KOMATIPOORT – Four rhino horns were found hidden in vehicles during police operations in two separate instances last week.
According to Brig Leonard Hlathi, provincial SAPS spokesman, three suspects were arrested in Komatipoort on Thursday afternoon after police stopped them and found two rhino horns in their vehicle.
An unlicensed firearm and four rounds of ammunition were recovered.

During the investigation, a rhino carcass was found in the Kruger National Park, Hlathi said.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Komatipoort Periodical Court tomorrow on charges of possession of rhino horn and a firearm and ammunition without a licence.
Middelburg Flying Squad members found another two rhino horns hidden in a vehicle when they stopped it near Belfast during a routine stop-and-search.
Two suspects were arrested on charges of illegally possession rhino horns and are scheduled to appear in the Belfast Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
