Elderly couple attacked in their home in Mbombela

MBOMBELA – According to police spokesman Capt Zandile Gwaqa, the suspects gained entry into the home through an open kitchen window.  She said one suspect took a steak knife from complainant’s kitchen.

“When the elderly man woke up to find the two men over his bed, they stabbed him and he screamed.  The suspects grabbed a laptop, cellphone and wallet and ran away.”

The elderly man was treated for his injuries at the scene. Gwaqa added that no arrests had been made and police were investigating the matter further.
