Uplands riders will show their skills

The eight riders with the most accumulated scores are then chosen to represent their province at the SANESA nationals.

Three Uplands horse riders have been selected for the Mpumalanga team that will compete in the South African National Equestrian Schools Association’s (SANESA) nationals this year.

Ellen Holland will compete in pony rider novice dressage and 70 cm showjumping, Jessica Whyte in 1,10 m showjumping and Lia van Wyk in elementary medium dressage as well as 1,10 m showjumping. The competition will be hosted at the Misty Meadows Equestrian Centre just outside Pretoria from September 21 to 28.

The SANESA organisation promotes all equestrian sport within South Africa’s school community. Members of SANESA are represented by each member school. Every South African province has SANESA representation, and provincially there are four qualifiers hosted in the first seven months of the year.

The eight riders with the most accumulated scores are then chosen to represent their province at the SANESA nationals. Here are Lia van Wyk, Ellen Holland and Jessica Whyte.
