Divergent Ops Security armed response officer laid to rest

The security fraternity in Mbombela is mourning the passing of Divergent Ops Security armed response officer, Hentie "Mamba" Scholtz (28), who died tragically last week Thursday.

According to ACS Security senior manager and relationship manager, John Meintjies, Scholtz’s death leaves a huge void.
Meintjies has been appointed as the family’s spokesman during their time of bereavement and said, “I worked closely with Mamba for the past six years. He was always eager to help and had no fear.
“His passion was to help people and he did not let anything or anyone stand in the way of him doing this.”
Meintjies said that besides being an armed response officer, Scholtz was also a qualified snake handler.

The Mbombela security brotherhood is a tight-knit group and is banding together to give their friend and colleague a fitting send-off.
“His body will be cremated during the week and, as per his family’s wishes, the ceremony will not be open to the public.

“As colleagues, friends and family, we will be hosting an End of Watch service for Mamba which will happen next week Tuesday.”

The fallen armed response officer is survived by his wife Roxanne and their two-year-old daughter, Bexley and her 8-year-old sister, Cloë-Lee from a previous relationship.

The End of Watch memorial service will be held on Tuesday at the Communio Church, with proceedings expected to start at 11:00.
During the morning of the service, all emergency personnel are asked to join Scholtz’s colleagues on a Last Patrol through West Acres in honour of Mamba.

Meintjies concluded, “Please note that there will be a Legend Story Booth at the church, where we ask anyone who has a fond memory of Mamba that they would like to share to let it be recorded on camera so that we can compile a video for Bexley for when she is older to remember her father for the legend he was. This will take place from 09:00”.

According to Meintjies, the service will also be livestreamed on the Communio Church Facebook Page for those who are unable to attend.
