Kontak my by marius@lowveldmedia.co.za met meer inligting.

Beeton skryf:

“A certain trip down memory lane, for those of us who have resided in Nelspruit for so many years, shall certainly recall the good ole’ days of nipping down to our favourite bakery and confectionery any time of the day to purchase fresh, scrumptious loaves of bread, doughnuts, all continental pastries, and let us not forget the availability of delicious wedding cakes ordered to our requirements. I am of course rekindling memories of years gone by!

Windmill Bakery’s history began in December 1967, situated in Henshall Street opposite the then town hall, which is today known as the Promenade. The proud new owners, Mr Boudewyn and Mrs Bep Helling of Nelspruit, purchased this fine bakery back in December 1967, transforming it into a legacy most of us locals still fondly have memories of. You see, Windmill Bakery was not your everyday confectioner, but strived to be a cut above the rest, by supplying only the best quality products, whether it be a simple loaf of bread or a wedding cake to celebrate that auspicious occasion, Windmill Bakery could be relied upon to deliver – on time, every time!

As the years rolled on, the Helling family then opened a branch in the Nelcity building in 1983. The continuance of exemplary standards that the late Mr Boudewyn Helling held in high regard was still evident in the new branch. My mouth waters when recalling the tasty pastries on offer, whether you asked for Cornish, chicken, sausage roll, pepper steak or the ever so popular steak and kidney, you were guaranteed a filling of original taste, allowing a delightful after-taste that lingered for some time.”
