Locals and sport heroes show off their talents at annual Cook-off

Heidel Eggs' annual Corporate Cook-Off event was hosted at Bagdad Centre recently, with 15 local companies each cooking against one another.

The main prize was a week away in Bilene, Mozambique, for the winning team.

Six of the Lowveld’s top culinary experts were the judges this year – Simon from Premier Hotel The Winkler, Garrick from Protea by Marriott, Nisha from Mercure, Michelle from Tsogo Southern Sun, Wayne from Greenway Woods and Jacques from Urban House, with Koos from MRTT as roaming judge.

The companies included some large ones like Old Mutual, SPAR DC and Assupol, with other local ones like KCS, Fine&Country and Fedics. The Pumas rugby team and the Honourary Rangers also participated.

The team from CAJV Headoffice SA was the overall winners, while a number of smaller prizes for team spirit and most nutritious meals, among others, were also awarded.
