Pupils taught audience about different planets and cultures

MALALANE – Beacon College pupils showed their talents last week at Kobwa Hall. There was a hive of activity under the theme “Mother Nature”. Different classes recited poems on how to conserve our natural resources and at the same time taught about what constitutes our planet.

There were songs with the recycling message, too. The grade six learners taught the audience about the different planets in the universe, explaining in detail where each is situated in the solar system and its relationship to Earth.
There were cultural dances with pupils dressed in relevant attire. Irin Josemon, Serene and Seira Nixon, and Ann Bency performed an Indian dance. The group also took part in the eisteddfod competition under the dance category and scooped a diploma.

The Swazi culture was represented by a combination of grades five to seven, with Mbali Vukela and Sinenhlanhla Simelane leading the group. It was such a lovely sight with the boys dressed as real Swazi men.
