Gravel roads getting repaired in Marloth
"Be polite and conscientious of the team fixing the roads asks Cindy Benson"

Cindy Benson, from the Marloth Park Ratepayers Association, spoke to the infrastructure director in charge of road maintenance at the Nkomazi Local Municipality a couple of months ago to report all the nearly undrivable roads in Marloth Park. The director gave instruction to the head of the road maintenance team to assist Marloth Park with their deteriorated roads.

The repair of roads started in Hartbees Ave. last week and will continue on a priority basis. The team started repairs on the following roads last week; Ribbok, Duiker, Kiewiet, Owl and Soetdoring; and they will work right through weekends to assist the people driving these roads on a daily basis.

Roads will be filled with gravel and the promise of an extra TLB and tipper truck, indefinitely assigned to Marloth Park, has been promised in the very near future. The head of the road maintenance team has also stipulated that there is a very good chance that the department will also be able to supply the community with concrete stormwater pipes and cement for roads that are being eroded by rain.

Benson would like to thank the municipal infrastructure director, the road maintenance head and her team on behalf of all the property owners of Marloth Park for fixing the hugely deteriorated gravel roads. She also requested that road users be polite and conscientious to the team and give them right of way to enable them to fix the roads, as well as a drink of water if they pass by.
