Mozambican mother missing since October

There is still no trace of the Mozambican mother who was apparently kidnapped in broad daylight in the city.

Mpumalanga police spokesman, Brig Leonard Hlathi, confirmed that 53-year-old Guitabali Samgi was last seen on October 15.

“It is alleged that on October 15 at about 14:30 the victim left her residential place, Elawini Lifestyle Estate in Mbombela, and went to Crossing Shopping Centre. She was supposed to fetch her child from school later, but did not. Her husband became worried after he failed to get hold of her.”

A case of a missing person was registered at Nelspruit Police Station.

“Her car was found at Cairn, on the outskirts of Mbombela, with the driver’s window smashed. Her belongings were found inside the car,” Hlathi said.

He added that the case has now been handed over to the Hawks.

A family member told Lowvelder that they were frantic with worry and “just praying every day”.
