Players from Hazyview Rugby Club awarded for their performance

Players and their family and friends enjoyed an evening together at their year-end function at G's Bistro last week.

Club management also made use of the opportunity to thank the management of the venue itself, as well as the management of Kruger Park Lodge, Legacy Hotels and Elephant Point for sponsorships.

The personnel of Hi-Tech, CHM Irrigation Supplies, Hazyview Dry Cleaners and Phakisa Holdings were also recognised for their continued help and support of the club throughout the year.

Special mention was made of the governing body of Numbi Primary School and principal André Coetzee for allowing the club to make use of their facilities. The Hazyview community was also lauded for their support throughout the past season.

The players themselves were the heroes of the evening though and a few of them were awarded for their contributions to the club’s performance during the year:

• Marno Venter was named players’ player of the year as well as backline player of the year.
• Tumiso Mabuza was most improved player of the year,
• Wayne Colyn was forward player of the year,
• Lucky Nkomo was awarded for the most tries scored and,
• Neels du Preez was player of the year.

Lucky Nkomo scored the most tries for Hazyview during the past season.
